Ms. Reena Kukreja, lecturer, Department of Film Studies and Women’s Studies at Queens University, Kingston, Canada, taught about the use of media as a communication and peace building tool. She also used newspaper articles from various newspapers for fellows to explore media bias.hana Rev. Ray Helmick, instructor in Conflict Resolution at Boston College and Senior Associate in the Program in Preventive Diplomacy at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington D.C., employed the films of John Michalzyk to teach about conflict in Northern Ireland, South Africa, and the Middle East.

Cross Cultural Conflict resolution is one session which is very important for our world that has many cultural conflicts between countries and communities. Fellows proudly display their national custumes on this day.

Module 2 :

Dr. Erik Melander, Associate Professor at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University in Sweden began the week by introducing the methodology of Conflict Mapping.

This module moves more in depth into the assessment, analysis, and understanding of conflicts. Conflicts can be difficult to assess and comprehend, and this module will provide a background for classifying and categorizing conflict.
