Special Lecture by - H.E. Ms. Merete Fjeld Brattested

H.E. Ms. Merete Fjeld Brattested (above left), Norwegian Ambassador, was keynote speaker on January 28th, 2008. She gave a lecture on “Effects of Third Party Mediation on Peace Building”. After the lecture she answered questions by Fernando Da Costa, Ellis Luciano, and others participants.



Module 1 - The Concepts and Values of Peace and Conflict Studies

In module, participants learned about the concepts and values of peace and conflict studies. They did a mediation process which divided them into two groups focusing on Serb and Albanian conflicts.

For the last session in a module, they learned about gender issues.

Rotary Orientation for Class IV participants in the Rotary Peace and Conflict Studies Program began at the Rotary Center in Bangkok, Thailand.  Topics included the history of peace studies programs that are supported by the Rotary Foundation, information on Rotary International, and a celebratory dinner cruise along the Chao Ph raya River.

  RCPCS ORIENTATION, JANUARY 26, 2008

RCPCS Orientation for batch IV participants at Rotary Center for Peace and Conflict Studies, Chulalongkorn University. We started with a warm welcome for the participants who just arrived a few days ago. We introduced the Center led by Dr. Amara Pongsapich, Director and Mr. Tucker McCravy, Deputy Director. 

During the ice breaking activity, there were activities for participants to introduce themselves and also find other participants who have special talents or interesting traits.

Later on this day, participants were taken the campus tour led by ROTARACTORs from Chulalongkorn University.

Session V: July to September 2008


Full and part funding for the participants
